Controller Consultant responsibilities for clients include:
The Controller leads the outsourced accounting function for clients and is responsible for the planning, directing and coordination of all accounting operational functions. The consultant may report to either a client CFO/CEO or a RoseRyan CFO, with additional responsibilities to manage accounting staff as determined by client needs. The role is both operational and managerial in nature.

Job Description:

The Controller Consultant in our Emerging Growth Solutions Practice manages the day-to-day accounting operations and has overall responsibility for meeting accounting deadlines and may be working with multiple clients and accounting teams concurrently.

The Controller Consultant must have solid communication, technology, analytical, and management skills. Specifically, the Controller must be well-versed in all aspects of operational accounting with demonstrated acumen in areas such as payroll, accounts payable, accruals, accounts receivable, fixed assets, consolidations, equity stock-based compensation and general ledger reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee the accounting and finance function to include revenue, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, fixed assets, consolidations, equity stock-based compensation, and general ledger reconciliations.

· Manage the period-end close process.

· Prepare monthly financial reports to include management reports, Board reports and investor reports.

· Manage accounting team members, including hiring, supervising, training, and mentoring.

· Provide on-going performance feedback to team members, including periodic written feedback.

· Oversee and manage the annual audit process including ownership of PBC Lists, responding to audit questions, and keeping the audit tasks on target.

· Establish, implement, and monitor adherence to accounting policies.

· Set up the proper design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.

· Utilize proactive referrals to RoseRyan 3rd party ecosystem partners, as established from time to time.

· Utilize RoseRyan best practices, standard tools, templates, and methodologies in the delivery of client services and the interaction with RoseRyan personnel.

· Use proactive and timely communication (written and verbal) with the client, team members, and RoseRyan management.

Requirements

Requirements:

Technical skills

· BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.

· Proven experience in the Controllership function, or equivalent, in early-stage start-up companies.

· 5-7 years progressive experience in finance management roles.

· Experience working with venture-backed companies (pre-seed to Series D) preferred.

· Proficient in the use of MS Office, Google suite, and financial management software such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Bill.com, ADP, Insperity and Expensify.

· Proven knowledge of US GAAP and accounting processes.

· A CPA license is a plus.
