This is an entry-level opportunity for a Financial Analyst capable of providing daily support to the accounting and finance departments as well as performing routine assignments and solving routine/standard problems with limited discretion. You should be able to direct vagueness and a grand amount of information. - Study and query a broad amounts of data
- Unify and interpret budgets and income statement forecasts
- Devise unique alternatives and solutions to reduce costs and elevate financial performance of a company
- Be a factor in the development of monthly financial reporting and other business data
- Check verified results at the corporate and division levels
- Be engaged in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
- Guide the monitoring and maintenance of internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
- Intermittently work with non-financial staff members and be able to clarify complex financial subjects in special assignments
- Maintain annual budgeting process
- Support multiple aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
- Capable of assisting internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits- Less than one year of experience
- Firm understanding of problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
- Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries
- Adeptness in bank reconciliations
- Command of Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Account reconciliation experience
- General familiarity with Journal Entry
- Proficiency in VLOOKUP
- Pivot Table experience
- Practical knowledge of general ledger
- Proficiency with diverse computer applications and experience with contract database systems
- BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
- Excellent verbal, written, and social communication skills
