This position serves as the Project Financial Analyst for our client and performs financial tracking, reporting, and analysis to support project team includes annual project specific budgets between $50M to $100M in range at various stages of the lifecycle. This position also acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in project cost control and supports the group with establishing standardized project cost control best practices and manages project cost reporting.
It is Hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Tracks, reports, and analyzes financial and operational performance of projects and programs.
- Coordinates and prepares operating budget.
- Performs monthly budget variance analysis and reports.
- Supports team to provide project governance, financial support, document management, change control, and contractor on/off-boarding across Gas Transmission Projects & P/I.
- Proactively administer/monitor contract administration activities for the portfolio of projects, MSA review with contractor, and issue requisitions.
- Research and evaluate available contractors and consultants, compare spend, develop req. extensions.
- Invoicing review, monthly accruals, SOX compliance audits and reporting, project financial analysis, and contract management supporting Gas Transmission Projects & P/I. The Invoice Review team ensures proper submittals and processing of invoices, accruals, journal entries, etc. in accordance with company accounting policies.
- Coordinates with internal and external parties to drive timely and accurate billing invoices for all capital projects aligned to the terms and rates of the contract agreements and improves budget cashflows through monthly accruals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of 8+ years related experience across Project Controls Cost/Financial activities.
- Must be able to assess the potential financial impact of a project to the Company.
- Must possess the ability to review problems and propose innovative solutions.
- Must be detail oriented and be able to take initiative, and follow-up on team deliverables.
- Position supports a team consisting of a mix of Financial Analysts, schedulers, material coordinators, document specialists, project advisors, project managers and contracted resources. Some training/development with other Analysts may be required.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization, ability to build excellent working relationships within multiple working groups.
- Proficiency in written and oral communications normally acquired through college level courses and a proficiency in business practices, design and construction applications normally acquired through practical experience and Company training courses.
- Excellent personal communication skills and ability are required.
- Knowledge of financials, typical construction requirements, closeout deliverables, and materials process is highly desirable.
- Must be proficient in leveraging technology such as Microsoft Office, TM1 (or equivalent), SAP (or equivalent), and/or PowerBI, to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Proficiency in finance, project controls, cost and contract management.
