Financial Aid Representative
The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has an immediate opening for a Financial Aid Representative in our Deerfield Office. The person selected will be responsible for answering questions from Financial Aid administrators (schools), students and parents about planning, applying, and paying for college.
Responsibilities
· Actively listen and respond to routine inquiries from Financial Aid administrators (schools), students and parents on college planning, finding, applying, and financing.
· Interpret and explain Financial Aid application procedures, as well as programs, products, and services available from ISAC and the federal government.
· Develop and maintain current working knowledge of all ISAC administered program rules, policies, procedures, state and federal regulations and statutes.
· Ensure that the division’s key performance and customer service principles are met in execution of duties and responsibilities.
· Record the nature of all inquiries and those requiring action.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
1. Any one or combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the categories below:
A. College coursework in any discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor’s Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience performing office, business, or customer/relations activities.
Preferred Qualifications
· Strong background working in a Financial Aid office.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and investigative skills.
· Ability to analyze and interpret data.
