Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Finance Manager to join the Group Policy Reporting team. This position will manage direct reports in the completion of disability policyholder tax functions, 5500 compliance functions, financial trend analysis to ensure reporting standards are met, and finance project initiatives with a strong sense of urgency and focus on quality.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:
- Estimated Salary: $95,000-$105,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

- Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year.
- Regular associates receive 11 paid holidays in 2024, which includes 2 floating holidays that are added to your prorated personal time to be used at your discretion.
- Regular associates are provided sick leave through the use of personal time. Associates working 40 hours a week can receive up to 40 hours of personal time in 2024, which is prorated based on the start date. Additionally you will receive two floating holidays in 2024 by way of personal time that may be used at your discretion.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manages FICA tax processes for worksite disability policyholders.
- Coordinates preparation and analysis of trend reports to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Oversees the preparation of worksite 5500 compliance reporting.
- Establishes and tracks metrics for tax and compliance functions.
- Oversees efficient design and execution of projects.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and procedures preferably common to an insurance industry finance environment.
- Excellent communication skills, nonverbal, verbal, and written, with peers, senior management, and business partners including in times of conflict and negotiation.
- Demonstrated experience in problem solving and judgment making abilities as well as establishing solid strategies to empower the team to resolve issues.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence direct reports while providing timely feedback and coaching.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently improve processes and create efficiencies on the team.
- Self-driven with demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, influence change with peers and business partners.
- Ability to establish deadlines across teams, manage through adversity and deliver results within timelines.
- You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
- Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced level degree or equivalent experience in Finance related field.
- Understanding of statutory accounting and/or insurance business processes.
- Designation specific to the Finance field, such as a CPA.
