Finance Manager - Productivity

SUMMARY

Manages the overall productivity process across the Enterprise. This includes developing methodologies, processes, and tools to track and measure productivity performance, helping enable business performance ensuring that cost efficiencies are being realized and maximized across the organization. Collaborates with and influences team members both across the enterprise and across functions including Plant Operations as well as Corporate Procurement, Logistics, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Marketing functions in building a pipeline, establishing goals, and working projects through completion. Develops, communicates, and trains team members across the enterprise about the purpose of productivity, how to identify opportunities, and how to track results.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Establishes and manages a continuous productivity improvement pipeline process to actively measure the health of the productivity pipeline as well as monitor actual productivity performance. This includes creating a pipeline tracking tool to identify active projects in the ideation, scoping, and implementation phases as well as to track actual results for projects completed. For completed projects, actual savings will be calculated and compared to original savings projections where applicable ensuring acceptable levels of return on investments and will also be compared and reconciled to the income statement to ensure productivity savings are truly being realized.

Drives discussions across the enterprise around enabling productivity ideation and thinking working with Plant Operations as well as Corporate Procurement, Logistics, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, and Marketing functions. Facilitates periodic productivity review meetings with teams as necessary to enable maximum performance.   

Evaluates and analyzes costs across the enterprise helping identify areas for productivity opportunities, including estimating productivity opportunity valuations for achieving performance vs. benchmark levels of performance.

Drives forecasting and budgeting processes for productivity helping establish targets, building plans, and ensuring goals are achieving top-down profit objectives for the enterprise. Works closely with plants and Corporate teams throughout these processes.

Establishes and shares best practices for productivity identification and tracking across the enterprise. Trains individuals across the organization creating a train the trainer approach to cascade knowledge, process, and tools throughout functional areas.

Responsible for supporting total customer satisfaction, both internally and externally, where applicable in relation to this position.  Ensures the appropriate level and quality of support are provided to the organization. Utilizes various feedback methods to monitor internal customer satisfaction and opportunities for improvement.

Supports other special projects as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct supervisory responsibilities but this position will be involved in attracting, retaining, and building team members across the Finance function. This includes participating in interviewing, hiring, and training employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A./B. S.) from four-year college or university; preferred degree in Accounting.  Five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate fifty percent of the time, and loud when in the plant.
