About This Internship
Department or Work Group: Capital & Financial Analysis and Ratings Agency Services
The intern will be responsible on the below:
- Market Research: Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and economic factors affecting the mortgage insurance market.
- Data Analysis: Assist in collection, organization, and analysis of Arch Mortgage Insurance's results, including Statutory and GAAP results, Investment Portfolio, and risk-based capital requirements.
- Presentations: Convert market research and data analysis into compelling exhibits for stakeholders, such as investors, credit rating agencies, and senior management
- Reporting: Collaborate with senior staff to develop presentations which highlight key findings complemented by visually appealing exhibits that effectively convey the message
- Risk-Assessment: Participate in the assessment and monitoring of risk associated with reinsurance counterparties.
- Forecasting: Prepare Legal Entity Proforma Financials combining actual results and forecasts
- Ad-hoc Projects: Assist in various financial projects and tasks as required.
Qualifications
Program Qualifications:
The standard qualifications of all Arch intern candidates are:
- 3.0 GPA.
- College level - current Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate student.
- Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
- Team player who collaborates effectively.
- Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Position Qualifications:
In addition to the above qualifications, the below are critical to your success in this internship:
- Preferred fields of study: Finance, Economics, Business Management, Accounting, or related field.
- Microsoft Excel and Power Point are necessary as these programs are fundamental tools in this role. Basic understanding of components of income statement, balance sheet, cash flows, and return on investments.
Location & Work Arrangement
- This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home.
- This position is in Greensboro, NC.
Timeline
Arch summer internship positions will be posted from October 2023 - March 2024 and will be unposted when filled.
Pay
For individuals assigned to or hired to work in Greensboro, NC, the hourly rate is $22 to $30 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
