Scope of Position


The Finance Business Partner - Sales is responsible for collaborating with senior and executive leadership to develop, adapt, and execute aligned business strategies and analytics to enable decision-making and drive competitive advantage across Sales in the United States. This includes but is not limited to deputizing for leadership at strategic meetings or key initiatives, advising and lending expertise to the business in areas related to future state performance, such as consulting and coaching (e.g., interpreting financial results and measures in the context of business operations), providing forward-looking financial insight on market conditions, competitors, and alternative business scenarios, and improving the quality of internal and external financial data and processes to drive business decision making and performance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Acts as steward of company assets and ensures compliance with financial regulations by mitigating risk, minimizing regulatory issues, enhancing process transparency, ensuring access to reliable data
  • Thorough accounting and auditing practices are mitigating risk and maintaining control, communicating identified issues timely.
  • Prepare or present reports concerning activities, expenses, budgets, government statutes or rulings, or other items affecting businesses or program services.
  • Review and analyze legislation, laws, or public policy and recommend changes to promote or support the organization's interests.
  • Acts as an operator, ensuring an efficient and effective finance organization providing various services to the business beyond financial planning and analysis.
  • Provides thought leadership and guidance to drive continuous improvements ensuring processes and controls are current with changes within the business, technology, accounting, and regulatory environment.
  • Leads efforts to streamline and maximize growth by providing thought leadership and guidance to drive continuous improvements ensuring processes and controls are current with changes within the business, technology, accounting, and regulatory environment.
  • Acts as a strategist to influence the future direction and growth of the company, providing context and insight to evaluate whether a project, initiative, or scenario will deliver sufficiently robust ROI to be worth the investment.
  • Provides strong, forward-looking analytical leadership by analyzing functional operations, market conditions, competitions, and business scenarios to evaluate company performance to determine areas of potential cost reduction, expansion opportunities, program improvement, or policy change.
  • Develops and presents meaningful, actionable insights, advice, and recommendations on historical and future financial and business performance to leadership.
  • Assesses the benefits and disadvantages of alternative models and scenarios.
  • Aligns business and finance strategy to grow the business.
  • Plays an integral role in supporting long-term investments of the company.
  • Acts as a catalyst to direct or implement policies, objectives, or activities of the function(s) to ensure continuing operations, maximize investment returns, or increase productivity.
  • Drives organizational change through robust financial analysis and strong Business Partnerships.
  • Stimulates and drives the timely execution of change in the finance function or business.
  • Drives business improvements initiatives such as improved enterprise cost reduction, procurement, pricing execution, and other process improvements and innovations that add value.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Required Minimum Qualifications


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field of study and 5+ years of related work experience
  • Related experience to include:
  • 1+ years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Relevant experience as a finance professional with demonstrated mobility within the unit
  • Expertise as a financial steward and operator with business analysis experience
  • In-depth experience in cost and technical accounting


Knowledge of:

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
  • Expert proficiency in Excel
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems as well as planning and reporting tools
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with financial and data systems
  • Cost and Technical Accounting
  • Expert knowledge of financial statements, risk management, and controls
  • Expert knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and state and federal regulations

Preferred Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration and 10+ years of related work experience
  • Related experience to include:
  • 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Relevant experience as a finance professional with demonstrated mobility within the unit
  • Expertise as a financial steward and operator with business analysis experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • High technical proficiency in SAP, BPC, and other financial applications
