Velocity Aerospace Group, EDN is a subsidiary of Precision Aviation Group (PAG), a full service, inventory supported MRO provider in the aviation industry with 23 domestic and international business units. Velocity operates 3 repair stations, specializing in the repair, overhaul, installation and upgrade of electromechanical, digital, pneumatic, avionic, and gyroscopic components for aircraft operators and maintainers in the commercial/regional airline, government and defense operation, business and general aviation markets.
Our EDN group in Van Nuys, California facility has an opening for a Quality Inspector. The Quality Inspector tests and inspects products at various stages of production process, complies and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products, performs final inspection on customer units, and provides backup to the Calibration Lab, as necessary.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, formulas, and technical manuals
- Confers with quality control, engineering, and production to determine reliability
- Perform and record statistical data based upon performance of specific aircraft number
- Perform quality control checks on warranty item to determine cause and corrective action
- Perform final buy-off inspections prior to shipping to ensure product meets specifications
- Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations, international standards and customer requirements
- Ensures technicians follow OEM documents, customer orders and standard practices
Ideal candidates offer the:
- Knowledge of Federal Aircraft Regulations (FAR)
- Minimum 3-5 years’ related experience
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, Standard Repair Manuals (SRM) and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM)
- Ability to understand written/verbal instructions in English
- Ability to obtain an FAA Repairman Certificate
- Experience in aircraft component installation, repair and overhaul
- Familiarity with aircraft specifications as applied to final and in-process inspections
- Hands-on, direct experience with components preferred
