MBS Solutions in York, PA has the immediate need of an experienced Field Welder on 1st Shift.
JOB TITLE - Field Welder
INDUSTRY - Industrial Construction & Agriculture Construction
Primarily fabricating, building, maintaining, repairing, of Farm equipment and structures, such as Silos. Agricultural Equipment Repair Services.
PAY RATE - $20-22/hour
SHOP LOCATION:
York, Pennsylvania 17408
SHIFT:
- 6AM-3PM; Monday-Friday
** Hours can vary dependent upon need; some days until 4PM or later as required or needed. **
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Welder will be responsible for setting up welding equipment to appropriately weld the structures and or products while standing or bending working from blueprints, weld symbols, work schematics. All other duties as assigned.
MOST IMPORTANT THINGS SEEKING IN A CANDIDATE:
- Must have welding/ blueprint reading experience,
- Strong hand, power tool & measuring devices knowledge; Candidate must be comfortable with varying heights.
- Candidate has mechanical Aptitude. (Construction Background/ or some type of training related to Millwright/ Industrial Construction such as welding, fabrication, etc.)
- Willingness to travel to Field sites either personally or from shop with coworkers.
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
- Read and follow blueprints, and welding symbols; Follow work orders and written instructions to correctly fabricate, layout, and weld components.
- Use of hand and power tools, welding operations, saw cutting, and lifting equipment.
- Set up and operate welding equipment to complete all welding projects on-time.
- Exercise proper care and use of all related welding tools, equipment, etc.
- Applicant must have knowledge of job site safety and be mindful of procedures put into place by company and or specific jobsite guidelines while on site.
- Welding knowledge and capability of passing a certified welding test
- General knowledge of equipment; forklifts, iron worker etc.
- Must not be afraid of working at heights, when needed
- Adjust weld machines to correct settings for precision and waste reduction.
- Position and clamp workpieces together and properly assembled in jigs, clamps, and fixtures.
- Familiar with the different processes and tools used in cutting, welding, and grinding steel, both structural and flat.
- MIG, TIG, Stick welding experience.
- Experience with Welding is a must/ Fitting & or Fabrication experience is desired but not required.
- Capable of welding in standing, bending positions, and or willingness of learning to weld in various positions.
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure
- Must have basic math skills
- Follow safety procedures while working in an industrious environment.
- Remove physical refuse and debris and organize tools to maintain safe work environment.
- Maintain neat, organized, and clean work areas to avoid safety concerns or project delays.
- Other duties as assigned or reassigned, as required.
TRAVEL:
Currently all jobs are within a 2-hour or less radius from Company Shop/ HQ. If within a shorter range to drive to job site, vs shop may transport self to site, or under a certain radius. If closer to 1-2 hours away, and almost always if within shorter distance ability to ride with Coworkers from shop.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS-
- Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, twist, reach, squat, throughout the shift.
- Must be able and willing to lift up to 50lbs consistently throughout the day.
