Pest control technician duties and responsibilities
No prior pest control experience required.
Will provide training in house
Certification will be required shortly after date of employment
Operating company vehicles and equipment will be required
Applicant must be able to be added to vehicle insurance. (Driving record will be screened before employment)
Must be able to pass screening for approved access to military bases in and around the community
Pest control will be performed in homes, schools, dorms, daycare facilities, and military facilities. Criminal background checks will be required.
Applicant should be confident in their ability to handle multiple duties and responsibilities on any given workday. The primary responsibility of a pest control technician is to detect and eliminate unwelcome pests from homes and businesses. Some specific pest control technician duties include:
- Conducting thorough interior and exterior inspections to locate pests
- Offering sound advice on both chemical and natural pest control remediation options
- Providing estimates for one-time treatments and continual maintenance
- Setting traps for rodents
- Spraying perimeters of homes and structures for ants and other insects
- Safe and efficient removal of wasp, hornet and bees nests
- Install and maintain rodent bait stations
- Covering holes with foam, mesh and wood to hinder rodent entry
- Recommending products and services for effective pest control
- The ideal candidate should be able to adhere to the following
- Clear verbal and written communication with costumers and staff.
- Proficient execution of the safety protocols for pest control, including wearing properly-fitted respirators when required and donning protective clothing and gloves
- Physical stamina to endure heavy lifting of equipment and excessive bending and kneeling to locate pests in hard-to-reach areas
- Familiarity with electrical and plumbing systems in the event of infestations in the pipes or chewed wiring
- Good interpersonal and communication skills when speaking with customers and advising on treatment methods
- Exhibition of strong attention to detail when performing pest detection and treatment procedures
- Willingness to learn new extermination techniques and procedures based on industry trends
- The pay scale for an entry level technician depends on number of state certification sub-categories obtained. With each subcategory obtained, that technician increases they're pay scale. Study materials for state certification is provided and no previous pest control experiance is required.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
