CCI is seeking a OSP Field Technician and Aerial Construction Groundman for Technical Engineering Services who will be responsible for working on both the design and construction of utility projects as needed. This requires field data collection and being an assistant on the aerial construction crew. The right candidate will have outstanding communication skills, be motivated, and work well with a team. Responsibilities
- Acquire field data to be used in OSP design utilizing various equipment including height sticks, GPS units, and range finders.
- Complete aerial construction tasks as assigned by the Aerial crew team lead.
- Operate various construction equipment and haul materials to job sites.
- Complete construction unit and material summaries with minimal direction.
- Confirm all deliverable documents are complete at project handoff with minimal direction.
- Attend site walks, pre-con meetings, and follow up calls.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure confidentiality of company and customer information.
- Create and promote the company image through exercising sound and ethical business practices as related to employees, the public and customers. This includes ensuring that service and quality provided to customers is satisfactory.
Qualifications we are looking for
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree or related OSP Telecommunications experience.
- Valid Commercial Drivers License preferred.
- Experience with utility design, engineering concepts, and design tools preferred.
- Experience working with utility engineering and construction, Communications, Power Distribution, and Gas.
- Experience in the Utility industry with data collection and construction.
- Demonstrated track record of process improvements using new techniques, technology, or concepts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with a wide variety of people.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple projects seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision; highly responsible, resourceful, and self-motivated.
- Detail-orientated with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other web-based applications with ability to learn new software programs.
- Worked with GPS Data entry software.
- Ability to embrace corporate values, understand the company vision, and exemplify CCI leadership behaviors.
Shift is full-time, 40 hours per week minimum, Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. Must be flexible, and willing and able to work outside normal business hours, as necessary.
Additional Information
- Travel up to 65% for this position is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
