Job description: Field Calibration Technician
Reports to: Service Manager
Job Summary
We are in search of an accurate, mechanically inclined technician who is a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and time-manage effectively, someone who will take pride in precision measurements. Must have strong communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities, Qualification, and Skills
Perform calibration, adjustment, and basic repair of precision test equipment, with a focus on mechanical and dimensional measuring instruments. Those with background and/or previous experience within any of the following categories will be considered: pressure, torque, thermodynamic, weight/force, dimensional measurements including ULMs, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, and other distance/height gages.
Previous work involving optical comparators and CMMs is also valuable. Those with electrical/electronic calibration experience are also encouraged to apply.
Ideally possess practical experience evaluating out of tolerance gages, with the ability to research and adapt to varying modalities.
Familiarity with ISO 17025 and gage management software is a definite plus.
Ability to follow procedures and show repeatability in measurement.
Work independently, possess strong math skills, and pay great attention to detail. Computer literacy and comfort with operating a standard laptop computer is preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
This position requires travel throughout the US about 25-40% of the time.
High school Diploma or equivalent (Required)
