Field Specialist - Wellbore Positioning Services

Scientific Drilling International is looking for a Field Specialistto work with our Wellbore Position Services team. This roll will be remote and will require extensive travel globally. Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging service company serving customers worldwide.

We are looking expand WPS group with a Field Specialist. Willing and able to travel to new regions, assist with local URSA roll out and deployments, prepare district for success in terms of training and documentation and SORP adherence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate in the safe execution of tests, training and support operations at SDI field and office worksites worldwide. Strive to raise the bar for all operators, and challenge those around them to push Scientific Drilling to new heights.
• Work with Project Managers and Technical Product Champions to execute field tests and objectives which adequately qualify products for general field operation.
• Responsible for preparation of equipment prior to field tests and jobs, including work with operations and engineering to ensure all equipment is available in the correct location and on-time.
• Execute tests in the field or lab in accordance with stated test objectives.
• Complete follow-up of all tests, including collection of all relevant data. Provide timely feedback of all information to relevant stakeholders.
• Create post-test reports and analysis.
• Perform field-level analysis of test results in accordance with objectives.
• Assist with on-the-job technical training to field operations personnel on the safe and correct use and application of new products and technologies.
• Work with technical writing and QMS departments to create documentation and/or procedures for operations use.
• Provide 24-hour coverage to field jobs as required.
• May be called on to provide support in formalized training systems. (Classroom training, e.g.)
• Identify changes, both operational and technical, which can improve the safety, correctness, or usability of products in the field. Provides operational insight and feedback to engineering.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality.
• Prepare project related reports, presentations, and correspondence as well as attend meetings relating to projects.
• Extensive travel, both domestic and international.
• Adhere to and improve safety standards.
• Manage work station and practice good housekeeping techniques.

Education, Experience, Certification, and Training

• Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of experience in oil field environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of oil field technologies including MWD, LWD, Production Logging, Directional Drilling and/or Survey preferred.
