Job Scope:
The Field Specialist will be responsible for processing and collecting various different types of samples at the wellsite. Will assemble, operate, and maintain wellsite. Will organize, collect and process different core/fluid samples at the wellsite. Maintain the Wellsite testing equipment in good working order. Ensures the Wellsite operations for sampling is performed safely, timely, and accurately. Adheres to company policy on Safety and Environmental policies and procedures. Able to work in the elements, in different environmental conditions, must be flexible to work weekends or night shifts as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use established industry protocols and standards for processing core and fluid samples on wellsite locations, for testing and analysis at the laboratory.
- Prepare solid and fluid samples for analysis.
- Assemble, operate, and maintain wellsite equipment.
- Compile and record testing and operational data for review and further analysis.
- Adjust and repair testing, electrical, and mechanical wellsite equipment and devices.
- Perform daily tasks in a timely manner.
- Meet all daily and monthly production requirements.
- Know and understand Stratum Reservoir’s Enterprise Excellence Process and the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules, confidentiality practices and company policies of Stratum Reservoir.
- Comply with Stratum Reservoir Training and requirements via Employee Connect.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Basic one on one communication skills
- Basic computer skills such as email and Microsoft office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Willingness to travel for extended periods of time
- Able to work 12-hour shift without close supervision
- Able to work flexible hours including shifts longer than 12 hours
- Ability to react quickly and rationally to stressful situations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional environment
- Valid driver’s license. Satisfactory driving record as defined in Driver Qualification Policy HRD-12.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other motorized equipment.
- Ability to operate and repair both wellsite processing equipment.
- Ability to remain focused in repetitive tasks and work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Ability to work safely and well with other team members.
- Ability to attend and pass all required safety classes.
- Oilfield experience such as mudlogging, core handling or directional drilling
- Knowledge of laboratory, mechanical, construction, well testing, fluid sampling, or other a plus.
- Basic understanding of geology, geochemistry and sedimentology
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Education with some Geology Classes
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geochemistry or Engineering.
