U.S. Facilities and Operations:
Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.
Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, performs a wide variety of tasks associated with the initial setup and update/upgrade of B. Braun products across the U.S. and Canada.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
- Update/upgrade device software or firmware utilizing B. Braun windows based computer applications.
- Performs functional checkouts and technical safety checks, often requiring the analysis and/or correction of malfunctions.
- Performs service calibrations and alignments of an electro-mechanical nature.
- Upgrade of hardware where sequence and methods are not repetitive and uses judgment in the assemble process.
- Utilizes a wide variety of hand and power tools. May provide technical expertise to lower level technicians.
- Close attention is paid to assembly or work instructions to ensure proper work.
- Hand tools must be properly maintained and stored. Only tools in proper operating condition and/or calibration will be utilized.
- Employees must comply with all applicable safety instructions in order to prevent injury to themselves and others.
Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
- Perform arithmetic calculations involving decimals and fractions or involving areas, volumes, speeds, pressures, temperatures.
- Requires basic computer competency and understanding of Microsoft based applications (eg MS office)
- Calibration and electronic instrument competency.
- Must be able to independently work from engineering drawing, specifications, verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to read and write the English language.
- Thorough knowledge of ESD practices.
- Use of multimeter and basic electronic measurement devices.

Required:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience or the ability to read and interpret simple drawings such as drawings of product charts or diagrams.- 1-3 years progressively difficult electro-mechanical assembly experience or equivalent experience
- Must be able to perform basic shop mathematics and measurements - involving decimals and fractions or involving areas, volumes, speeds, pressures, temperatures.
- Required travel (by air or car) up to 100%.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
