Field Service Technician Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Field Service Technician within our team in Chicago, IL.
You will work out of your residence and travel to customer sites across the region within a two-hour radius. Each day supporting our Mid-West customers. A Company truck, gas card, tools, PC, and phone provided.

• Install, repair, maintain, and remove Air Products' cryogenic, high pressure generated gas, and associated equipment at customer sites all over the region
• Responsible for safety at all times
• Troubleshoot complex customer problems
• Trace and measure voltage/amperage on instrumentation circuits
• Be the face of Air Products to our customers and interface with Air Products' management, sales, and engineering teams
• Document all work (computer/phone platform), reorder all parts, and communicate relevant information
• Occasionally supervise subcontractors and crane activity
• Support the team in working unscheduled shifts and weekends, covering vacation days, sicks days, training, bereavement etc.

Required Skills/Ability:

• Knowledge of low voltage, deenergized circuits up to 480V
• Ability to maintain electronic controls, pneumatic systems, pumps, pressure vessels, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors is preferred
• PLC, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting are a plus
• Able to read P&IDs
• Excellent and communication skills
• Good driving record
• Willing to work weekends and call outs and work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces

Education and Licensing Requirements

• High School diploma followed by technical school or apprenticeship training
• Military experience relating to electrical/mechanical maintenance desired
• Capability, flexibility, and willingness to adjust to new technologies and apply prior knowledge
• Degrees in areas of Process or Electrical Technology, Industrial Systems, Electrical Power and Controls, Electromechanical Technology, HVAC would be well suited for this role
