Field Service Technician
As a Service Technician, you will play a vital role in our team, traveling to various locations to repair and install roll grinders, lathes, and milling machines. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy traveling, are highly mechanically inclined, and can work independently.
Responsibilities:
- Receive extensive training from experienced Service Technicians.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of company machines to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to identify root causes of malfunctions and implement timely repairs.
- Install, configure, and set up company machinery according to manufacturer specifications and customer requirements, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.
- Conduct precision calibration and alignment procedures on machinery components, such as axes, spindles, tool changers, and sensors, to ensure accurate positioning and machining processes.
- Apply mechanical problem-solving skills and make educated decisions to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of service activities, including maintenance schedules, repair logs, parts usage, and customer interactions.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in mechanical or electrical fields preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as required (Travel expenses covered, based on company guidelines).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other technicians, engineers, and support staff to ensure timely resolution of issues and continuous improvement of CNC machine performance.
- Familiarity with hydraulics is advantageous.
- Previous experience in servicing CNC machinery is highly a plus, including familiarity with various CNC controls and systems such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Haas.
