Field Service Engineer

We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our US Service Department. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing and providing support for our cutting-edge chemical analysis equipment across the Northeast region of the US and Canada. GERSTEL offers comprehensive product training to ensure your success in this role.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform on-site installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and qualification of GERSTEL instrumentation on GC-MS and LC-MS systems.
• Diagnose issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Collaborate with customers, offering exceptional support and fostering customer satisfaction.
• Adapt and navigate diverse situations with resourcefulness and adaptability.
• Uphold a strong familiarity with Analytical Chemistry techniques.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Gas Chromatography experience required.
• Residence inside the continental United States required.
• US Citizenship required.
• Preferably 1-3 years of hands-on experience as a Service Engineer, especially involving analytical instrumentation.
• Mass Spectrometry experience preferred.
• Liquid Chromatography experience preferred.
• Passion for helping customers and delivering exceptional customer support.
• Proficiency in Analytical Chemistry principles.
• Positive attitude, integrity, and a people-focused approach.
• Mechanical aptitude and proactive mindset.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%) and stay overnight.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This is a remote position that will be based in a home office with remote travel to customer sites.
• Overnight travel will be required.
