Overview / Purpose
The position of Field Service Engineer is extremely important and directly affects the success of our company. It is expected that the Field Service Engineer will provide service in a safe manner, on-site troubleshooting of equipment, customer technical support, supervision for equipment rebuilds and installation, commissioning and start-up of equipment, and submit reports in a timely manner. The Field Service Engineer should advise management of concerns, progress, and important developments on a timely basis.
The Field Service Engineer will be the point of customer contact on-site. It is expected that they develop customer relationships; to clearly define scope and successfully perform the service as proposed by management. To manage additional resources on a timely basis, working within the project schedule and budget. A detailed understanding of the project, including performance, customer and proposal specifications, schedule, and budget is required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- The Field Service Engineer has the responsibility of executing service in safe manner from traveling to site to submitting the final reports, including the following:
- Inspections and Preventative Maintenance o Perform onsite review of operational history and maintenance logs. o Pre-inspection meeting with customer maintenance staff and management. o Review current equipment fault logs. Discuss any future or recent capacity changes.
- Parts replacement, if required. o Internal and external inspection. o Controls and safety equipment verification and alarms. o Optimization of system operation. o Site photos and detail findings
- Troubleshooting o Identifying current technical or electrical issues in the equipment. o Providing analysis for problem solving. o Performing corrective action for equipment problems.
- Site photos and detail actions.
- Equipment Installation o Mechanical Installation Supervision o Electrical Installation Supervision o Site photos of progression and completion
- Startup & Commissioning o Follow commissioning check list
- I/O checkout o Complete start up reports
- Site photos of completion
Additional Responsibilities
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of comparable Field Service is required.
- Safety training is required for the following:
- Aerial Lifts o Arc Flash/Arc Blast Safety o Bloodborne Pathogens o Confined Space o Crane Safety o Fall Protection o Forklift Training o Lockout/Tagout o Personal Protective Equipment
- Respiratory Protection
- Must be willing to travel >70% of the year.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Must be knowledgeable of mechanical and electrical components.
- Ability to manage third party resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- Proficient in A/B or Rockwell and related controls software.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and various CAD applications.
- Frequently lift or carry 25lbs.
- Bend, stoop, or kneel approximately 2hrs a day.
- Frequently push or pull 50+lbs.
- Stand, sit, walk approximately 8hrs a day.
- Dexterity required.
- 20/20 Vision or corrected ability.
- Operate moving vehicles or heavy machinery.
- Applicable personal protective equipment; situationally dependent.
- Outdoor conditions (temperature, precipitation, winds, sun exposure)
- Pollutants.
- Excessive Noise.
