We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Field Operations Manager for a Materials Testing Engineering Firm to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in our company, where the ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing Materials Testing, as well as managing bids and proposals and talking with new and existing customers about their project needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering or construction, specifically in the civil discipline, and will have excellent customer management skills. If you are an ambitious manager of plans with an interest in growing a department within a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Responsibilities
1. Communicate with clients, from Fortune 500 to small business, about their testing needs, the state of the current testing projects.
2. Prepare and submit detailed reports on the results of Materials Testing, highlighting any areas of concern or non-compliance.
3. Manage bids for new projects, including preparing proposals, making follow-up calls on bids submitted, and liaising with clients.
4. Read and interpret plans and the scope of work to understand project requirements and ensure all Materials Testing is aligned with these.
5. Coordinate scheduling of Materials Testing to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to project timelines.
6. Work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise and support in the development of proposals and bids.
7. Maintain strong relationships with clients through excellent customer management, ensuring their needs are met and any concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
8. Continuously keep up-to-date with advancements in civil engineering and Materials Testing to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering is required
2. Minimum of 1 year experience in Construction or Engineering, preferably Civil
3. Proven experience in submittals, bids, building and maintaining relationships with customers + interest in managing a team.
4. Strong knowledge of construction industry standards and practices.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and liaise effectively with clients.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
7. Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and the scope of work.
8. Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
9. Experience in sales and proposal development would be advantageous.
