We are seeking a skilled Fiber laser/ Waterjet Operator to join our team at Barfield Fence & Fabrication
The Fiber Laser \ Water Jet Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Fiber laser and Water Jet cutting machines in a manufacturing environment. This role ensures production meets quality standards and adheres to safety protocols
Responsibilities:
Operate Fiber laser and water jet cutting machines based on computer-controlled programs and specifications including:
- AutoCAD drafting software
- Nesting software
- Rudimentary knowledge of G-code
- Knowledge of operating software for Fiber Lasers or Waterjet machines
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine proper cutting parameters.
Load, position, and secure materials onto the laser bed.
Select and install appropriate cutting heads and lenses based on material type and thickness.
Monitor the cutting process, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to quality control procedures.
Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and conformance to specifications.
Perform basic machine maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubrication, and changing filters.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (may require additional education in some cases).
Experience operating 2 dimensional CNC machines XY Axis (Laser, Waterjet, Plasma or Router Table).
Understanding of laser cutting principles and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift and maneuver materials up to a certain weight limit (typically 30-50 lbs).
Additional Skills (depending on the company):
Knowledge of specific laser cutting software programs.
Experience with welding or sheet metal fabrication.
Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing workshop or production floor.
Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and loud noises.
Must adhere to safety regulations and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Monday-Friday- 7:00am-3:30pm
Salary
$18.00-$24.00 per hour
