Required Related Experience

Required License/Registration/Certification
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) required at time of hire, and Fetal Echocardiograph Certification (FE) within 18 months of hire.
Physical Requirements
Being able to travel long distances across the enterprise, regularly lifting, pushing and/or pulling objects over 50 lbs, regular exposure to repetitive motion, occasional exposure to radiation, hazardous chemicals, bloodborne/airborne pathogens, cuts and punctures. Intermittent job related travel.
Shift
Monday - Friday, Day Shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm (40 hrs/wk). 24 hour shared call rotations including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Job Summary
Kentucky Children's Hospital has an immediate, full-time opening for an experienced fetal cardiac sonographer. Kentucky Children's Hospital at the University of Kentucky is a KCH is a 205 bed facility with a 12 bed pediatric intensive care unit, 12 bed progressive care unit, and 81 bed neonatal intensive care unit.
Our pediatric echocardiography lab is accredited by the IAC in pediatric transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography. The University of Kentucky has recently partnered with Cincinnati Children's Hospital in a Joint Pediatric Heart Care Program designed to be "one program, two sites" with plans for significant growth and collaboration.
In addition to providing exceptional heart care (including open heart surgery), collaborative research and educational opportunities are also anticipated. The qualified candidate will join our energized, dynamic team performing high-quality, diagnostic echocardiograms in a wide variety of settings to include inpatient, outpatient and off-site clinics.
Requires call rotations and some travel.
New Starting Pay Rate The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted based on current demand for this role. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $33.00/hour. All pay rates will be based on the candidate's experience.

Associate's degree plus three or more years performing fetal echocardiograms preferred.
