The Athletics Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Assistant Strength Coach. This position is being created to enhance the student-athlete experience, by increasing the coach-athlete ratio, and overall coach availability. Strength and Conditioning professionals play a key role in student-athlete health and wellness through daily interactions and physical preparation for sport. By adding this position to the staff, our student-athletes will receive more attention, leading to better health/wellness outcomes, augmented performance, and a more positive athletic experience. U nder the supervision of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach - Olympic sports, the Assistant Strength Coach will design and implement athletic performance enhancement programs for assigned primary sports.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Strength Coach include:
- Supervise assigned student-athletes during training sessions.
- Utilize the scientific principles of physiological training and industry accepted best practices when designing and implementing training programs.
- Assist in nutritional education and meal/supplement selection for assigned teams.
- Refer student-athletes to Sports Medicine or Nutritionist when appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with Sport Coaches and Athletic Trainers with regards to training protocols, individual athletes, and any other necessary information.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to the Strength and Conditioning program.
- Assist in training program implementation with other sports as needed.
- Assist with equipment and facility maintenance, upkeep, cleanliness, and organization.
- Adhere to and reinforce established safety protocols for each facility.
- Participate in departmental continuing education. This includes learning about new means/methods in S&C, researching current trends in S&C, and discussing pertinent topics with the S&C staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach- Olympic Sports.
