Fertilizer Technician

Goal: Provide technical support for safe and efficient delivery of required nutrients and chemical pesticides essential for proper growth and development.
Duties:

1. Identify and diagnose turf and landscape plant issues and diseases. Recommend treatments and repairs as needed to customers;
2. Maintain and apply fertilizers and chemicals to lawns, landscape plants and trees;
3. Knowledge of and adherence to state and federal regulations pertinent to application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals.
4. Safely operate lawn application equipment. Complies with all applicable environmental health and safety policies, procedures and work rules
5. Prepares recipes, solutions, and equipment in a safe manner to provide appropriate fertilizer application rates for proper crop development.
6. Mixes and sprays or spreads fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders and chemigation units.
7. Administers correct handling, transporting, storage and disposal procedures for chemicals used in a safe manner.
8. Complies with all applicable environmental health and safety policies, procedures, and work rules, giving maximum effort to performing job functions in a manner that protects the health and safety of the incumbent, co-workers, and the public.
9. Provide exceptional customer service by focusing on the detail and communicating issue.
10. Performs other duties as assigned and which are deemed necessary

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Pest Control & Chemical Spraying Occupations: 1 year (Preferred). Willing to train. Current applicator's license a plus. Must have a valid Minnesota driver license. Must have or be able to obtain a DOT medical card. Knowledgeable of OSHA regulations.
Education: High school or equivalent
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Time in the field may be equal to or more than 50% of time.
Working Environment: Employee is frequently exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
