Our growing company is in search for new talent for the role of Feed Intern:
Summary: Summary: The Feed Intern participates in learning and understanding the daily sales, production and quality assurance activities involved in the Feed Department at New Vision Co-op. This position assists with New Vision's 4-H programs, product promotion, collecting feed samples, analyzing feed samples and supporting Feed Sales, Production, Accounting and Quality Assurance activities as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with the coordination of the New Vision Co-op summer 4-H programs.
  • Assists New Vision Feed Sales staff with product promotion
  • Collects feed samples and assists with analysis.
  • Assist with bagged delivery products.
  • Select and weigh hand add ingredients to match the mixing schedule.
  • Assist in the operation of the bagging machine.
  • Train on control panel, pellet machine, and feed load out.
  • Take customer feed orders by phone, electronically or fax and enter them into the software system.
  • Take customer service phone calls or initiate communication about delivery or invoices.
  • Collect, label, and perform in-house quality tests for pellet durability, incoming ingredients and on ground corn for micron size.
  • Organize and share in-house test results with Supervisor.
  • Provide clerical support as needed.
  • Provide service to walk-in customers.
  • Support Feed Sales, Production, Feed Accounting and Quality Assurance activities as needed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Some post-secondary education in Animal Science, Nutrition or other Ag related degree preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work as a team member.
  • Valid driver's license.
