Job Summary:

Responsible for the delivery of bulk and/or bag product to customers in an efficient manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Keep daily driver's log current and complete daily truck inspection.
• Deliver bulk and/or bag product as delegated by Fleet Dispatch Manager.
• Ensure all GMP, FDA, DOT, and HAACP regulations and guidelines are adhered to.
• Inspect feeds to provide a consistently superior product to customers.
• Ensure product is delivered to the correct customer along with the correct destination.
• Communicate needed repairs and maintenance with management.
• Maintain all fluid levels and general maintenance requirements of assigned units and trailers (if applicable).
• Assist with routing and combining loads if/when applicable.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a safe and courteous work ethic while driving or interacting with customers and coworkers.
• Is aware of Company and Industry safety regulations, Company policies as specified in the employee handbook, and abides by these regulations and policies.
• Attends all required company sponsored safety meetings and training sessions.
• Safe and legal operation of a commercial vehicle.
• Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment immediately.
• Report safety hazards immediately

Education:

• High School Education or GED

Experience:

• Experience as a CDL Driver required.

Qualifications:

• Class A CDL
  

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee must frequently move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job are in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

In addition, employee:

• Must be able to sit and remain alert while driving for an aggregate period of up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to shift manual transmission and operate foot pedals.
• Must be able to enter and exit the truck cab frequently. Cab is generally from 36 to 66 inches above ground level, with entry and exit achieved with the assistance of various configurations of steps and handholds; also requires occasional bending, climbing, squatting and balancing.
• Must be able to occasionally reach above shoulder level; bend at waist level and below waist level for maneuvering and directing controls of the truck.
• Must be able to climb ladders on truck; as well as climb on equipment at loading and delivery sites as required.
• Must be able to spend at least 50% of the time standing and 50% of the day walking on surfaces such as bare ground, gravel, concrete, metal and wood.
• Fuel vehicle, check oil and coolant levels.
