Saybrook University Federal Work Study Student: Research, Peer Mentor or Teaching Assistant
Saybrook University is seeking a Federal Work Study Student: Research, Peer Mentor or Teaching Assistant to join its Transformative Social Change program.
Under the direction of Faculty and the Program Chair, the Federal Work Study Student: Research, Peer Mentor or Teaching Assistant is responsible for carrying out library research to support course development and academic projects of the Department of Transformative Social Change.
Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
· Conduct library data-base searches on a variety of topics.
· Summarize articles and obtain full text copies of relevant research reports.
· Interview faculty and students about their activities and generate new communications for possible use on the website.
· Participate in communications with potential applicants, providing potential applicants with student's perspective on the TSC learning process.
· Assist with instructional tasks, including reviewing and responding to student work.
· Assist with preparation of presentations.
· Communicate with students on behalf of the course instructor.
· Be a Peer Mentor for fellow TSC students.
Position Requirements:
· Candidate must be a current student in good standing.
· Student must demonstrate competence in data-base searches.
· Student must present and express her/himself well to carry out contact with faculty, students, and potential applicants.
Position Qualifications:
· Candidate must be enrolled in a graduate a degree in CSS.
· Candidate must display academic writing skills in APA format.
· Candidate must have skills in conducting electronic data base library searches.
