Job Summary
EnviroKinetics is seeking a highly-motivated FCAW welder to join our manufacturing team. Candidates should be familiar with FCAW as applied to carbon steel and stainless steel (304/316) industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and other work instructions to plan weldment layout
- Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements while avoiding obstructing the activities of other workers
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and project requirements
- Set up components for welding according to drawings and specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
- Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align and fit components to be welded using calipers, rulers, and other tools
- Configure and setup semi-automatic welding equipment
- Weld components in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Repair components and weldments, if necessary, by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Ensure all completed work meets specified quality standards, performing quality checks when necessary
- Store raw materials, in-progress work, and completed product properly in workshop
- Operate lifting equipment and forklift trucks
- Maintaining and completing production logs and forms
- Assist engineers and staff in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment
- Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience as Welder In an industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience using electrical and manual tools: grinders, saws, squares, calipers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with industrial welding standards: AWS, ASME
- Experience welding pipe and structural steel
- Experience with other welding processes: GTAW, GMAW
