2024 Farmer’s Market Sales Manager

PROJECT UMAMI IS LOOKING TO HIRE SEASONAL, PART-TIME EMPLOYEES FOR THE 2024 FARMERS MARKET SEASON (APRIL – NOVEMBER). Project Umami is a Boulder, CO-based producer of natural whole-food ingredient plant-based products. We specialize in soy-free tempeh made using traditional fermentation methods.

As a Market Sales Manager, you will be packing for & traveling to farmers market(s), setting up the company booth, cooking product samples and providing new customers with their first taste of our satiating, fresh tempeh as you educate them on what makes our product good for our health and the environment.

A reliable car (small SUV or larger) will be required for transporting supplies and product. Managers will pack product at the company facility in Boulder and drive to Boulder & Denver Markets and then back to the company facility to bring remaining product back.

Candidate Characteristics:

• Customer Service Skills
• Thrives in fast-paced environments
• Ability to interact with customers and close sales
• Ability to lift 75 lbs
• Weekend Availability
• Valid Driver’s License

Key Job Functions Include:

• Pack and transport product and booth setup from the company facility in Boulder, to market/demonstration site and back
• Set up, maintain and break down the market booth
• Prepare product samples throughout the duration of the shift
• Maintaining an organized and presentable booth throughout the event
• Completing sales transactions using a POS system
• Energetically engage with customers to educate about product attributes & benefits
• Have fun

We are hiring for a Market Manager to attend the following markets:

2024 Boulder Saturday Farmer's Market (April - Nov)

2024 Longmont Saturday Farmer's Market (April - Nov)

2024 Highlands Sunday Farmer's Market (May - Oct)

This is a part time position, there are opportunities for additional hours if desired in other work. Weekend availability and a car are required for this position.

Compensation: $20-22 per hour plus tips & gas reimbursements.

Tips amount to ~$5-7 / hr & gas is reimbursed at $0.30 / mile.
