Farmers Market Sales Representative

OlyKraut has been making raw fermented sauerkrauts, pickles, and sipping brines in Olympia since 2008. We are passionate about building a healthy food system and healthy guts!

We are looking for a Sales Representative in Olympia to work at Olympia Farmers Market as well as occasionally staff events and food demos at local grocery stores.

The Olympia Farmers Market begins April 1st and runs every Thursday – Sunday 10am-3pm through October when it goes to just weekends This position would be one of three people on the Farmers Market team who would share responsibilities and shifts. The Sales representative is responsible for picking up the product and sales materials, driving to the market, setting up and then taking down, providing strong customer service and returning unsold product and materials to the cooler storage facility. You are responsible for communicating any issues with the Farmers Market Coordinator, and recording daily sales reports for the Office Manager.

Hours would be generally 18 per week but on weeks where there are special events, demos, or someone is out of town there can be upwards of 25. There is always the potential for increased hours and responsibility at OlyKraut for someone who is an independent self-starter with a knack for sales and ability to track details. We hope to meet you soon. Starting wage is $17.00/hr and after a week of training, that goes to $17.50. There is also a small commission.

REQUIREMENTS:

A reliable, roomy vehicle - large enough to carry several cases of sauerkraut, a large tote containing all the materials, a kegerator, and sometimes a heater. Ideally, a station wagon, pickup, or van.

A smartphone – necessary for accepting Credit Card/Square payments. Also important for communication on the fly as well as taking good photos of displays and documents to email to our Olympia office or for social media.

A valid driver’s license and insurance.
