Earthling Food Company is an impact-driven food manufacturer based in Olympia, WA. We produce wholesome vegan and gluten-free packaged food that evokes a back-to-basics approach to eating, a connection with nature, and the adventure and mystery of the Pacific Northwest.

We are seeking a charismatic and energetic team member who is eager to contribute to a small and growing local business.

Hours:

1–4 shifts per week. Farmers market shifts are about 6.5 hours; food production shifts are typically 4–5 hours

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years old to run the Farmers Market booth
• High school diploma or equivalent (or expected graduation 2024)
• Valid WA Food Worker Card
• Reliable, on-time, and seeks ways to support team
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills
• Able to remain calm and collected in a sometimes fast-paced environment
• Prior point-of-sale experience a plus but not necessary

Primary Function:

The Farmers Market Associate plays an important role on the Earthling Food Company team. This position will work 1–4 shifts per week, which will include Farmers Market shifts at the Olympia Farmers Market and food production shifts, with an emphasis on the Farmers Market. During Farmers Markets, this position acts as the face of the company, bringing an energy to the customer experience that keeps them coming back. On food production days, this position requires attention to detail and a can-do attitude. This person is always on-time, reliable, and supports their teammates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Farmers market days (1–2 shifts per week):

• Every Saturday from 4/20/24 to 10/12/24, with occasional Sundays; at the Olympia Farmers Market
• Access to personal vehicle required as this is a solo shift
• Loads personal vehicle with products and supplies (will be organized for you with a checklist)
• Arrives on-time no later than one hour prior to Farmers Market start to set up booth
• Ensures accurate recording of starting and ending product inventories and till amounts
• Makes at least one post per Farmers Market shift on the Earthling Food Company social media accounts

Food production days (1–3 shifts per week):

• Shifts are typically Tuesday–Thursday
• Supports one or both owners at the commercial kitchen in Olympia
• Responsibilities may include basic food prep, packaging, and other duties as assigned

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 – 20 per week
