The Fischer Farm Discovery Camp Leader is responsible for leading summer camp activities at Fischer Farm.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all farm visitors.
Set up the day’s farm camp activities each morning.
Greet parents and camp participants in the morning and sign campers in for the day’s camp activities.
Lead farm camp activities and support campers ensuring a rewarding and fun camp experience.
Ensure safety for all campers and administer first aid as necessary.
Sign out campers to approved parent/guardian by checking ID and acquiring signature.
Assist with clean up at the end of the camp day and prepping of supplies for the next day’s activities.
Camp leaders must be at least sixteen years of age.
Excellent skills working patiently and supportively with children of all ages and abilities.
Prior experience working as a Camp Leader preferred, with knowledge of camp structure and camp type activities.
Willingness to work outdoors each day.
Comfortable working around farm animals such as chickens, pigs and goats.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in written English.
Be able to solve problems independently and work unsupervised in most situations.
Ability to communicate and interact with campers, parents, staff, and the public in a positive and friendly manner.
Commit to the full camp season. Vacations cannot be taken when camp is in session. A maximum of three non-sequential days off are allowed.
Able to attend mandatory pre-camp training sessions.
JOB STATUS Seasonal DEPARTMENT Fischer FSLA STATUS Non-Exempt
SALARY $14.00-$15.00 per hour
HOURS Seasonal position with 25-40 hours per week during the camp season within the framework of 7:30-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, plus occasional weekends. June 3rd- August 9th 2024, plus mandatory pre-camp training sessions.
