Job description-Farm assistant

We are searching for a Farm Assistant to join our Mushroom Farm!

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized individual to assume a position at a rapidly growing, innovative, disruptive company in the 21st century food system. A Production Assistant is hands-on –; Individuals who apply must enjoy rolling up their sleeves.

Farm Assistant responsibilities include monitoring the crop, maintaining, and ensuring maximum yields, and assisting with overall farm operations.

Outstanding candidates are keen problem solvers who are responsible, focused on efficiency, take a hands-on approach to situations, and have an interest in agriculture.

Responsibilities

• Performing tasks such as: harvesting, preparing substrate, planting, cleaning.
• Perform and be able to meet expected harvest times.
• Ensuring that rooms perform as expected.
• Ensuring supplies are restocked.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with fixing facilities, the use of power tools is a plus

Requirements

• Knowledge in Agronomy, Biology, or related field is a plus but not a requirement.
• Exceptional listening and communication skills.
• Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
• Excellent eye-hand coordination.
• Basic math skills required
• Must be comfortable working in summer heat conditions
• Must be able to work at a steady pace and must be detailed oriented
• Must have a reliable form of transportation.
• Open availability to work various work schedules including weekends
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Ability to work under a fast paced environment

Schedule:

• Availability to work on weekends and holidays (farm schedule)
• 8 hour work shifts. 7am - 4pm (subject to change)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
