MSPCC, a division of Eliot is currently seeking a Family Support Specialist . This position requires an energetic, motivated individual with three years experience working with children including experience working with families from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
Provide home visiting services to assigned families utilizing the PAT structured curriculum. Services will include parenting skills education, mentoring, assistance in accessing needed services, and support for families and children.
Complete assessment and all its components within required time frames.
With parents, develop and implement a goal plan utilizing appropriate community resources at standardized intervals.
Provide early detection and developmental screening services and ensure that all necessary referrals are made and documented.
Observe, document, and foster child growth and development.
Role model for appropriate parent/child interaction.
Encourage identified fathers/father figures to participate in program activities to the greatest extent possible, including regular home visits by the assigned Home Visitor and group activities including parent groups, fathers groups, and special activities/outings.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Three years of experience working with children including experience working with families from various socioeconomic backgrounds.
Shares the language, culture and preferably life experience of the population being served. Good listening skills. Ability to foster self-sufficiency and identify family strengths in a non-judgmental manner. A
Demonstrate sound judgment and effective, solution focused, problem solving skills.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm with flexibility for early evening visits and groups.
Compensation: $19.85/hr for HS and $21/hr for BA. Bilingual Preferred - 6% differential.
