The Safe at Home Program located in Dorchester is looking for Therapeutic Training & Support staff to provide individual and family based therapeutic services, crisis intervention and case management for defined program. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

How You Will Be Making a Difference

  • Meet with families of children 1-3 times weekly in community settings (mainly at home, but also at school, in hospitals, with peers, and in malls, parks, etc.) to provide Therapeutic Training and support services
  • Children range in age from 3-21 and caseload is generally six to seven families
  • Assist in initial assessment and evaluation of new clients and families
  • Identify treatment needs and barriers to growth and development
  • Work with supervisor and colleagues to design treatment plans that address and specify outcomes
  • Collaborate with clients and family members to develop treatment objectives
  • Depending on the program, may be required to meet certain billing requirements on a weekly basis

Driving Requirements

  • May be required to operate a vehicle
  • May be required to have a valid driver’s license and a “satisfactory” driving record
  • May be required to have access to a personal vehicle for use during work hours
  • May be required to use personal vehicle to transport clients on occasion if/when needed
  • If required to transport clients, must maintain the minimum amounts of liability insurance as required by The Home and/or other regulatory requirements and vehicle registration must be current

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Criminal Justice, or Psychology (varies by program)
  • Experience with behavior management systems, treatment planning, crisis intervention, case management and providing individual, group and/or family therapy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Department of Social Services and other local child and family advocate agencies
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications
