Who we're looking for:
Wolfspeed's Materials Business is seeking is seeking a Factory ControlsProject Technician to work continuous improvements in the space of our site's Statistical Factory Control, minor equipment modifications with equipment engineering, Cost Program, 5S Program, Technical Writing / Documentation, and Technical Training Program. The person in this role will be an experienced technician with technical background in equipment in high volume manufacturing setting. The role will consist of coordinating improvement plans and will need to develop strategic partnerships within the engineering/operations teams to achieve site goals. Additional technical still in minor coding of systems and setup in CM, MES, SharePoint, other is preferred.
This posting is for a position located at Wolfspeed's new Farmers Branch, Texas Epitaxy Facility. This new site will establish our multi-site epi footprint with initial ramp beginning in late 2024. The person in this role will be permanently assigned to the Farmer's Branch, TX location but should be prepared to report to Wolfspeed's Durham, NC headquarters for on-site training approximately 2-3 times for ~2 weeklong periods.
The Day-to-Day:
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships within the Manufacturing Operations, Equipment Engineering, and Process Engineering Team as well as with functional business partners to understand and support training needs within the business by:
    • Creating training curriculums and development plans to meet department and company initiatives
    • Creating "qualification" standards for the equipment team
    • Minor tool modifications and/or recommendations
    • Monitoring completion of assigned training and department compliance success rate
    • Establishing or improving upon existing on-the-job training best practices
    • Facilitate workshops and training for employees, targeting skills that need improving or to further develop skills
    • Assist with cost, quality, and productivity improvement planning and implementation
  • Assist with Statistical Factory Controls continuous improvement efforts consistent with Wolfspeed goals and objectives.
    • Partner with the Engineering group to implement a process with standardized cross site methods and metrics
  • Assist 5S continuous improvement efforts consistent with Wolfspeed goals and objectives.
    • Partner with the Engineering group to implement a process with standardized cross site methods and metrics
    • Facilitate workshops and training for employees
    • Coordinate review cycles that hold accountability consistent with expected outcomes
  • Assist Cost continuous improvement efforts consistent with Wolfspeed goals and objectives. Implement program to improve quality, eliminate waste, decrease costs, and improve productivities and other efficiencies
    • Partner with the Engineering group to implement a process with standardized cross site methods and metrics.

This Job is Right for You if You Have:
  • An Associate's degree or related industry or military equivalent
  • 5+ years Technical role in related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite programs, Statistical Factory Controls, FMEA, Cost, and 5S
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively across teams
  • Experience training others in a technical setting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional technical still in minor coding of systems and setup in CM, MES, SharePoint, other is preferred.
  • Experience influencing transformational change within organizations
  • Experience within a manufacturing setting
