Job Summary and QualificationsThe Facility Safety Officer will provide administrative support to the Manager and Director of Facilities with regards to the Plant Operations Department of Medical City Frisco. This person is also responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising the Environment of Care, Emergency Management and Life Safety programs under the Physical Environment.
What You Will Do In This Role:
- Monitoring in conjunction with the Manager and Director of Facilities of HCA Engineering Central to ensure the timely addressment and completion of work orders
- Monitoring in conjunction with the Manager and Director of Facilities of HCA Engineering Central to ensure the timely addressment and completion of all preventative maintenance for designated plant operations equipment.
- Monitoring in conjunction with the Manager and Director of Facilities of Complies to ensure that Medical City Frisco remains in the highest state of compliance for all standards related to the Environment of Care and Life Safety governed by CMS, TJC, TDH, and OSHA.
- Serve as facility safety officer and provide consultative services to departments within the organization to help achieve and maintain regulatory compliance by collaborating with clinicians and other staff to develop and implement processes that ensure all standards related to the Environment of Care, Emergency Preparedness and Sustainability are always met.
- Responsible for chairing the Environment of Care Committee and Emergency Preparedness Committee and preparing the minutes and topics to be discussed in each of these committees. This person will also be responsible for annual reporting and assimilating all reporting into the EOC or EM minutes and agendas
- Serve as a liaison with vendors / contractors that Medical City Frisco will need to come onsite to perform necessary scopes of work related to compliance, preventative maintenance, renovations, and new construction
- Directs the tracking and completion of all required drills and training
- Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities and seeks opportunities to improve departmentand inter-department processes.
- Conducts rounds as required
- Apply regulatory standards to design and redesign of departmental and hospital processes and procedures
- Fills in during the absence of the Manager of Facilities
- Maintains the equipment, records, and contracts for all disaster supplies
- Performs special assignments as needed / requested
- All other duties as assigned
- Assists in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory by of material usage, low inventory levels, and following established stocking procedures;
- Contributes to department performance by initiating ideas for department improvement.
- Bachelors Degree in Emergency Management, Engineering, Technology, Disaster and Emergency Planning, or Safety required.
- Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) preferred.
- Hospital environment of care experience preferred.
