Job Description
The Facility Engineer oversees all building-related activities and is responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensures that facilities are safe and well-functioning. The Facility Engineer must be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leading the business to a problem-free and safe area to support the employees working in the best possible conditions. The Facility Engineer will report to the Plant Manager.

Principal Job Duties:
- The Facilities Engineer will ensure an optimum production environment by directing the installation, maintenance, and repair of all utilities, building systems, machinery, tools and equipment
- Ensure that preventive maintenance is maintained and that all applicable policies and procedures are followed to meet strict safety standards
- Manage systems, KPI reporting and drive overall improvement
- Supervise all facility staff and third party service providers
- Negotiate contracts with service providers to ensure the highest quality services at the best prices, and to direct the activities of said contractors
- Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
- Inspect buildings' structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations. Work with consultants to manage landscape plans.
- Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs. Evolve waste and recycling operations.
- Develop and implement building automation system(s)
- Responsible for all security services (camera system, door badging, alarm systems)
- Work closely with company safety team, managers and supervisors.
Qualification
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
- Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Professional presence when interacting with all levels of employee base as well as outside contractors
- Good analytical/critical thinking
- BS/BA in facility management, engineering, business administration or relevant field, or associates degree with equivalent experience
- Requires 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing facility setting
- Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage
- Flexibility to respond to off hour emergency situations related to facility issues
