Facilities Bldg Maint Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Engineershall be responsible for repair and maintenance of the all of Saracen Propriety.

All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and assist in the maintaining and cleaning of the Saracen Propriety as directed by supervisor.
• Repair and maintain physical structures of the Saracen Propriety.
• Replace defective electrical switches and other lighting equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and repairs.
• Repairs or replaces needed and repairs or replaces mechanical equipment in building as needed.
• Determine problems with heating and air conditioning system and initiate appropriate action.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks at the Saracen Propriety
• Coordinate and assist in keeping public areas in and around the building free of litter and debris.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on Saracen Propriety equipment.
• Responsible for the safety and security of personnel within the facilities for ensuring safety devices are in good proper working order.
• Work independently without direct supervision.
• Review schedules to ensure that weekends and critical times have adequate staffing and overtime is at a minimum.
• Must be available on a 24-hour basis for assistance with maintenance type problems.
• Maintain safe chemical storage as deemed.
• Will be responsible for the safety and security of personnel within the facilities and ensure safety devices are in proper working order.
• Ensure that all subordinate employees abide by all internal controls, policies, and procedures during all shifts and facilities are operated efficiently to ensure overall customer satisfaction for a steady and continuous relationship.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
• At all times acts as a role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Saracen Casino Resort.
• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
• Attend all necessary meetings and assist in other projects as needed.
• Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older upon employment.
• High School diploma or equivalent required. Related post secondary education preferred.
• Two (2) years experience in the technical fields of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and heating/air conditioning.
• Must have proficient computer skills.
• Must be available on a 24-hour basis for assisting with maintenance problems.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must present a well-groomed and professional appearance.
• Must possess excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
• Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
• Applicants must be able to substantiate a safe driving record within the parameters acceptable to our liability insurance carrier.
• Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.

• Adequate manual dexterity to operate standard tools of the trade.

• Must be able to carry, set up, climb and descend ladders.
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, and move through all areas of the casino.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
