Job Title: Facility and Grounds Maintenance Technician

The Facility and Grounds Maintenance Technician performs basic and routine facilities maintenance and repair tasks according to service, quality, and safety standards. The role will assist with our Project Home initiative including painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, and moving furniture or materials within facility.

Role & Responsibilities:

· Performs preventative maintenance on building systems, plumbing, landscaping, and overall mill appearance. Assists management in planning and scheduling preventative Building and Grounds work and recommends approaches to sustainable maintenance programs.

· Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.

· Repairs and maintains a variety of facilities systems, components, and structures; including but not limited to painting interior/exterior surfaces, door/window repairs, landscaping, snow removal, plumbing, carpentry, signage and 5S initiatives to support Project Home.

· Performs minor facility renovation/remodeling. Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of company issued vehicles.

· Work safely and productively to achieve the department's business goals and objectives.

· Use of a variety of hand and power equipment including chain saws, push mowers, power painters, snow blowers, trimmers, edgers, rakes and shovels etc., as well as handling equipment including forklifts, large mowers, and trucks with plows

· Detect faulty operations, defective material, and/or defective equipment and report to the proper supervisor.

· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas such as vehicles and equipment (sweeping floors, washing trucks, etc.)

· Facilitate room set-ups and tear downs for plant events.

· Become familiar with plant work order system and complete work orders or other assignments in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Ability to perform assigned repair and servicing tasks.

· Willingness to work the assigned schedule.

· Consistently demonstrate an understanding of all plant & departmental safety rules, standards, and programs.

· Meet the essential physical requirements of the position. Negotiate steps and ladders.

· Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

· Have ability to understand verbal and written instructions from plant supervision and efficiently and effectively perform assigned tasks.

· Responsible for maintaining a set of personal tools as specified in the operator rate program.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
