About the Role
The Facilities Manager is responsible for supporting the functionality, safety, and sustainability of buildings, grounds, infrastructure, real estate, and equipment of the organization; provides services such as lease management and administration, capital project planning and management, and property and equipment maintenance. The Facilities Manager is responsible for and supervises the maintenance care, and efficient operations of all equipment and facilities used by the organization.
Essential Functions of the Role
Effective Process Management & Operations
- Facility and vendor management
- Provides Information Technology Equipment Support
- Fleet Vehicle Management
- Participates in the creation of budget and ensures adherence (includes billing and utilization as necessary)
- Reconciles accounts/petty cash/credit cards
- Project Management and Strategic Facilities Plan
Compliance and Quality
- Facilities Compliance, Safety, & Security
- Completes and submits reports accurately and timely
- Proactively collaborates with all LADD departments and regulatory agencies
Models The LADD Way (TLW) and supervises direct reports ensuring their performance is aligned with TLW and the policies and practices set for the department
- Ensure staff have what they need to deliver excellent/ exceptional services to person served
- Leads performance management for direct reports
- Participates in performance management for indirect reports
- Proactively collaborates with the HR team
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees
- Represents LADD to the public in a positive manner as appropriate
Stays up to date on industry practices and ensures appropriate ongoing training of current staff
Keeps up to date on all relevant training and certifications
Education/ Skills & Experience
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of facilities management experience or;
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of facilities management
- Well-versed in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and facilities management best practices
- Must have a good working knowledge of maintenance systems including electric, HVAC, plumbing, and carpentry and preventative maintenance that includes the repair and/ or replacement of assets.
- Demonstrated experience with project management, business management or construction management
- Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously
- Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, communication delays, clarity ambiguous situations
- Experience using facility management or project management software
- Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Work schedule will normally be Monday through Friday and may include weekends and/or evenings
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment
- Job will include being in an office environment as well as remote sites; and will require travel to other locations
