LMI's seeks a Facilities and Space Management Consultant to support the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) within the Department of Defense.
- Provides technical expert advice and assistance to the Chief and Deputy Chief of Security, Office of the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (OCDAO) with building and space management, along with facility guidance to support the OCDAO facility programs and personnel.
- Serves as a technical expert responsible for evaluating, advising, coordinating and performing liaison and problem resolution relative to all elements of Facilities & Space Management (FSM).
- Oversee the buildout of spaces, working with the performing construction contractor.
- Assist with space planning services and facility operations at multiple locations, to include building and facility construction, maintenance and repair, and operation of buildings, facilities, equipment, and utilities.
- Assist with implementation of plans and provides technical and administrative direction for facility projects, including multi-year renovation of current/future office spaces and data processing facilities.
- Serves as the OCDAO ambassador and works with other OCDAO team members to evaluate, define, and validate current and projected OCDAO operational space requirements.
- Assist the OCDAO Accountable Property Officer(s) and the designated Property Custodians when required, to ensure current and correct accountable property records are maintained in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS)
- Develops, plans, coordinates, and able to manage multiple space renovation projects and able to communicate with management officials on setting goals, standards, and targeted outcomes
- Provides technical advice and coordination to program offices on regulatory developments, changes in space management practices, and trends affecting the organization’s requirements for, and use of, space
- Interprets operational policies and procedures within the areas of responsibility and identifies potential areas of fraud, waste, inefficiency, and abuse
- Constructs and maintains electronic space plans based on changes in agency’s needs, coordinates design and alterations to space or reconfiguration of offices, coordinates office relocations, and ensures maintenance for space controlled
- Provides guidance and can articulate general matters related to Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP), along with general understanding of Information Technology (I.T.)
- Able to operate in classified environments and maintain access to sensitive information, controlled unclassified information and classified information produced by, entrusted to or under the control of the United States Government
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or field
- 5-7 years of DoD related facility management experience, to include construction, repairs and maintenance of business office facilities.
- Experience providing facility operations support at multiple locations, and able to function in fast-paced environments while meeting deadlines.
- Experience managing the execution of facility projects, including multi-year renovation of current/future office spaces and data processing facilities.
- Experience ensuring current and correct accountable property records are maintained in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
- Experience coordinating the design and alterations to space or reconfiguration of offices, and coordinating office relocations.
- Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) for architectural / facility construction projects.
- Experience developing recommendations and solutions for mechanical and electrical & plumbing (MEP), and space management matters.
- Engineering experience diagnosing and resolving issue with building HVAC and electrical power issues.
- Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities
