About this position:
Responsible for providing the overall direction for facilities operations, maintenance and construction in NorthWestern Energy's three state service territory. This position interacts with all levels of the Company. Responsible for the day to day management of Facilities and Mail Services departments and all buildings and associated properties within the Company.

About this job:
- Oversee the staffing, daily management, and overall work direction of the Facilities team.
- Oversee preparation, justification, forecasting & monitoring of the Facilities O&M Budget
- Oversee preparation, justification, forecasting & monitoring of the Facilities Capital Budget
- Direct company-wide building maintenance and operations management
- Manage contract administration for facilities construction, operations and maintenance
- In coordination with the Security Operating Center assist with administration of company-wide facilities security Management Services. Provide support to facilities access control systems. Perform real property management, building lease management and respond to tenant interactions
- Develop and maintain Facilities Management related policies and procedures
- Interpret and implement facilities related compliance to federal, state & local building codes
- Establish short and long range department goals
- Provide monthly departmental financial & management reports
- Develop comprehensive facilities energy management and cost control management
- Manage outsourced Facilities and Mail services. Manage the on-site direction of facilities related contractors and vendors
- Develop and manage facilities space management solutions as required
- Direct essential FMS central services (reception, security, maintenance, mail, waste disposal, recycling, building safety)
- Evaluate building plant equipment obsolescence. Develop process for review, planning, budgeting and replacement of critical plant equipment.
- Prepare and provide 5 and 10 year facility plans
- Provide responsible leadership and direction for all Facilities & Mail employees
- Recruiting, hiring, training & development of Facilities & Mailroom staff
- Coordination of work and services with other company managers & employees
- Facility environmental hazard management and remediation

- Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
- Four-year degree in Facilities Management, Construction Technology or Industrial Education or equivalent training and experience
- Demonstrated experience with operating building lighting, HVAC, fire suppression, fire alarms, access control, and other facilities systems.
- Experience with building construction methodologies and project management
- CAD background is highly desirable
- Must have or be able to obtain a facility professional certification from a recognized facility professional organization such as IFMA.
