Major Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain a list of repairs needed and repairs completed.
- Minor repairs to doors, windows, cabinets, floors, ceilings, etc.
- Add touch up paint and make cosmetic repairs.
- Minor plumbing repairs.
- Minor electrical repairs.
- Minor installation projects.
- Minor carpenter projects.
- Review and update property and equipment list annually.
- Change light bulbs throughout all the facility and on grounds.
- Initiate and maintain a labeling system for all electrical components (breaker panels, outlets, light switches, fire exits, backup batteries, etc.).
- Maintain the facility in compliance with all codes from the city, county, and state.
- Landscaping.
Maintenance Equipment Responsibilities:
- Keep Maintenance area clean and organized.
- Maintain proper storage of chemicals and consumables.
- Maintain and service all tools and equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist office personnel with heavy lifting jobs.
- Assist in set-up and take-down work before and after functions, when requested.
- Supervise all facilities maintenance service providers whenever possible.
- Assist volunteers, when requested.
Job Skills & Requirements:
- Discretion and confidentiality in all matters related to facility members and facility operation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- General knowledge of building maintenance, general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, audio/video systems, network/voice wiring, and custodial skills.
- Ability to become familiar with all aspects of the facilities and systems.
- Notify the Operations Manager or his designee in advance for time off.
- Finish all repairs and small projects in a timely manner.
The Facilities Maintenance position is largely unsupervised and requires self-motivation, accountability for time and expenses, and integrity. While maintenance personnel is not expected to perform at super-human levels, they should seek excellence in doing their job as does our overall Company Culture. Also, maintenance personnel should take initiative and constantly seek out small projects/repairs without being instructed or informed. Much of their work should result from routine checking.
Experience:
- Janitorial & Facilities Maintenance: 3 years minimum.
Salary: $16-$18/hr pending experience.
