About the position: Our Facilities Maintenance Technician supports dental lab operations through general building maintenance and repairs, as well as troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment used in the Lab’s manufacturing operations. This position helps ensure a functional and safe environment for themselves and the entire O’Brien team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- *Performs interior and exterior building maintenance and repairs, including painting; basic carpentry; flooring; minor remodeling; general handyman work; replacing filters, light bulbs, and other consumables.
- *Maintains, repairs, and replaces plumbing such as pipes, drains, fixtures, water stations, sinks, lavatories, showers, water heaters, dishwashers, and related parts.
- *Maintains and repairs walkways and parking lot; ensures surfaces are treated during ice and snow events.
- *Performs preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs on manufacturing machinery and equipment. Includes ceramic ovens; milling machines; mixers; grinders; hand-held rotary tools; sanders; lathes; routers; vacuums; torches; and other machinery used in manufacturing operations.
- *Researches repair and maintenance solutions, including online resources, and works with tech support for resolutions.
- *Identifies and reports areas, items, and parts needing maintenance and repair.
- *Places orders for parts and supplies within allotted budget online, by phone, or in person.
- *Maintains record of maintenance and repair activities.
- *Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
- Other duties, as assigned.

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED
Computer, drills, saws, vacuum, nail gun, sanders, air compressor, power washer, ladders, hand-held carpentry and maintenance tools.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience maintaining building structures and systems.
- 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing machinery.
- General skills in plumbing, carpentry, machine repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record in accordance with the company’s insurance requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a temperature controlled building and outside in all weather conditions; occasional work in a crawl space, in tight spaces, or from heights of 20 feet; can be dusty or noisy.
- Continuous walking across level surfaces; occasionally walking across uneven surfaces.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent bending, twisting, crouching, kneeling, reaching, grasping, and squeezing.
