Job Description
Seeking a Military Veteran, National Guardsman, Reservist, and/or Military Spouse to perform a variety of repairs for commercial locations throughout the Dallas region as a Facilities Maintenance Technician. The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a variety of routine and complex Facilities Maintenance work supporting multiple locations to ensure day-to-day maintenance, both preventive and reactive, for our clients. Candidate must have experience performing routine building maintenance, experience in a skilled trade, use of personal tools and personal vehicle, and be a "jack of all trades" handyman.
**Hiring bonus: earn $500 after 2, 4, and 6 months on the job (total of $1,500) in bonuses!!**
Additional $4.50/hr (on top of hourly pay) to cover an allowance for tools and vehicle expenses
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Follows detailed scope of work provided.
· Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair, making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet.
· Performs minor electrical maintenance to include replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.
· Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching, and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).
· Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g., preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, graffiti removal, flooring (VCT, Laminate, Tile) etc.).
· Performs minor mechanical work such as removing and replacing pumps, hoses, and nozzles.
· Works neatly and keeps work areas as clean as possible. Always cleaning up afterwards.
· Order parts, picks up, and returns supplies at the hardware store, and maintains proper documentation/receipts.
· Helps assess situations and creates an estimate of the time and materials required to make larger repairs so the company can obtain prior approval.
· Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
· Experience performing routine building maintenance tasks.
· Experience in one or more skilled trade fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, flooring) and/or general handyman experience.
· Familiarity with a variety of tools and repair processes.
· Must be reliable and have ability to travel throughout surrounding area/region. Sometimes up to 2 hours.
· Personal vehicle required. SUV or pick-up truck is preferred.
· Must possess valid driver’s license w/insurance.
· Personal tools required.
· Must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
· Ability to operate tools. Ability to move and/or lift items such as ladders, tools, cable, test equipment, and other objects.
· Ability to stand for long periods.
· Ability to drive for extended periods up to 2 hours.

Techs are expected to have with them daily:
· Sharp drill bits
· Multiple bit tips
· Drills
· Wireless required – with multiple batteries.
· Corded is also wonderful, however, candidate won’t always have access to power. Many of our techs carry both.
· Impact drill (preferred)
· Hammer drill (helpful, but not required)
· Angle Cut-off Grinder
· Hammers
· Assorted hand tools
· Saws – Circular and/or hand
· Painting supplies, including applications materials, drop cloths, etc.
· Extension cords
· CHARGEDtool batteries including a back-up charger.
· Inventory materials the company pays for you to keep in stock.
· 6-foot Ladder
· Broom/Vacuum to clean up your mess.
· All your PPE materials for your health and safety
Additionally, while we aren’t opposed to techs with a car/sedan it is much harder for them to perform their jobs with a smaller vehicle for transporting larger pieces of materials and equipment/tools. SUV or pick-up truck is preferred.
