Job Description
- Maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled (emergency) repairs: Response is required for emergency service requests after hours and on weekends.
- Receive electronic work orders and verbal instructions from the manager.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair items such as: water heaters, faucets, drains, outlets, switches, toilets and urinals, partitions, doors, locks, lighting, shelving, sheetrock, cove base, tile, resinous flooring systems and more.
- Service every trade except HVAC and roofing.
- Travel to facilities throughout the region and maintain stock of materials, tools, and equipment on company vehicle.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas and service vehicle.
- Communicate closely with Service Manager and Coordinators throughout the day.
- Provide before and after photos of all work performed along with detailed written descriptions of everything done and materials used.
- Perform assessments on work orders that need to be quoted and provide complete and detailed written descriptions of all work that needs to be done including required materials.
- Arrive on time with a presentable and professional appearance.
- Some out-of-town travel may be requested periodically for larger projects.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial maintenance or construction.
- Proven experience in a hands on/mechanical setting.
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical, structural, plumbing, and electrical systems with the ability to troubleshoot.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills using correct terminology.
- Outstanding organizational abilities.
- Must be able to work independently, take ownership and responsibility for all work done with attention to detail.
- Must be familiar with a wide variety of hand/power tools and be able to adapt to the use of new tools quickly.
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
- Must be available to work a demanding schedule including long hours, occasional overnight work, and rotating weekends on-call.
- Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
- Must have a reliable smartphone and be proficient with the usage of various applications.
- High School diploma/GED or trade school equivalent.
- Position requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
