As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for tracking and performing all routine building maintenance tasks for Co-op facilities. You will partner with approved vendors to ensure all systems are operating in a safe and efficient manner. Additionally, you will ensure all Co-op facilities are in excellent condition and perform additional projects as assigned. You will work closely with team members and managers from across the organization to support their business.

- Ensure all buildings, offices, facilities and surrounding grounds are cleaned and all systems are maintained.
- Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations for maintenance. Work with vendor partners to track maintenance and performance of facility systems.
- Perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate tools.
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)
- Assist with painting and other carpentry projects as needed.
- Assist in preparation and execution of floor sets, office moves, and other projects as needed.
- Order parts and maintain required documents.
- Partners with vendor(s) to ensure burglar and fire alarm, sprinkler systems and fire suppression tools are tested and operational at all times. Schedule inspections and repairs as necessary.
- Report, track & prioritize open issues and ensure they are addressed in a timely fashion.
- Drive company vehicles on special assignments when needed.
- Keep all storage areas, tools, and equipment secure at all times.
- Participate in activities to mitigate both short and long-term costs of operations and participate in planning and budgeting discussions to ensure the company meets or exceeds it's financial goals.
- Explore and develop new working methods to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Adhere to safe operating standards and policies when utilizing various tools and machines, as directed by the Director of Corporate Operations.
- Complete other duties as required or requested based on provided duty guidelines and timelines.
Qualified candidates for the Facilities Maintenance Technician position will have at minimum a High School Diploma or GED. You will have a minimum of two years of working experience in facility maintenance. Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry is a must. Must have valid Texas Driver’s License and be insurable under company insurance policy. A Texas Department of Public Safety Motor Vehicle Record will be required. Must be able to use various hand tools, weed eater, lawn mower, ladder, brooms, mops, carts and dollies, vehicles, vacuum cleaner, high pressure water sprayer, fork lift, floor buffer, and read & understand chemical labels.
Facilities Maintenance Technician is a full-time nonexempt position and is expected to work flexible hours that meet the business needs. These hours will include variable schedules that may include early mornings, days, nights, weekends and holidays.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician works indoors and outdoors and is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, electricity, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, reach with arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Package handling is required, the Facilities Maintenance Technician must lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and up to 200 pounds via cart or dolly.
On rare occasions, daily and/or overnight travel may be required for company business.
