Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of the facility, related equipment and systems.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Maintains, troubleshoots, or coordinates maintenance of facility HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and related facilities equipment and systems. Insures all facility-related equipment and systems are kept reliable and operating efficiently.

2. Recommends and implements changes or modifications to improve the overall operation of the facility and reduce costs.

3. Assists in the maintenance and modification of Production equipment and systems. Works with Production and Engineering departments to fabricate or arranges for the fabrication or modification of production machinery, tooling and systems.

4. Supervises Facilities Maintenance Technician. Develops work schedule, task assignments, and provides guidance, training, and evaluation of work performance.

5. Develops contracted maintenance services and insures agreements and schedules are current and work is properly performed. Coordinates work with Facilities Maintenance Technician.

6. Implements regulatory requirements for air and water. Works under the direction of the Safety and Environmental officer to insure compliance.

7. Performs or directs movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required. After receiving the appropriate authorized requests, insures items are moved or located safely and efficiently.

8. Be on call to assist in emergencies. Coordinates with Company representatives to insure internal and external personnel are properly instructed and equipment is adequately prepared in an emergency situation.

9. Directs the Implementation of regulatory requirements for air and water. Coordinates with the input and of the Safety and Environmental officer to insure compliance.

10. Develops and recommends maintenance cost forecasts for budgeting purposes. Reports recommendations to the Production Manager and General Manager as appropriate.

11. Supports and fosters active participation in, and complies with, corporate values as outlined in the Corporate Values and Expectations Handbook and complies with the Management Systems Manual.

12. Completes on the job and specialized training as required.

13. Complies with Company and area safety policies and practices.

14. Awareness of job-related environmental impacts.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

1. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

2. Must be mobile with a wide range of motion.

3. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND/OR EXPERIENCE

1. Minimum three to five years of hands-on Facilities Maintenance experience.

2. Proven supervisory leadership skills.

3. Ability to read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, technical operation manuals, instructions and procedures.

4. Practical knowledge of maintenance trades required.

5. Qualified in the safe operation and maintenance of power, hand and machine shop tools and equipment.

6. Good written and oral communication skills.

7. Effective interpersonal and negotiating skills.

8. Ability to be on-call.
